SPOT UV

Spot UV effects

Spot UV can highlight an image, logo, text or have an effect all its own.

This black card uses spot UV to outline the branches and flowers of a tree.

Uses

A gloss varnish laid down on a matte card to highlight a graphic or text. Use it on its own for graphic effects.

A great and inexpensive way to add graphic effects to a card.

Raised Spot UV

Spot UV can accent some part of the card but Spot UV makes a real graphic impression.

Uses

A double bump gloss varnish laid down on a silk matte card. Used as raindrops or a spill, logo accents or graphic element.

Spot UV with glitter

FOIL BUSINESS CARDS

Foil Business Cards

Metallic stamped traditional foil comes in gold, silver and copper.
Also in light and dark blues, indigo, teal, purple, orange, lavender, pinks, black, magenta, red, green and sparkle foil effects.

Uses

A high end card with foil that can accent a name, logo or large effect.
Fonts smaller than 8pt work but some round parts may fill in. San serif at the smaller sizes are best. The stamping does not have the effect of indenting or raising.

Foil on multiple sides

Metallic stamped foils can be shown through the backside of a double sided card.

Shown is a 32pt business card with gold foil seen through a company name diecut.

Uses

A high end effect with foil showing through diecuts. Use multiple foils.
We help setup this kind of file for printing and foiling.

Printed Foil

Create sparkling foil finishes for all your images! This feature allows you to produce large solid areas as well as reversed out areas of foil by laying down an extra layer of silver.

You can produce foiled half tones, gradients and have multiple colors in foil on the same design. Create new design possibilities!

Uses

Give any solid color a metallic shine like a foil (lighter colors work best). Much brighter than metallic ink colors. Use it with full color printing with glossy coating or without.

Speckled Foil

Use these special foil options for great effects.

Ask if your file would make a good show with these large and small speckles and pattern foils.

Uses

Large fields of foil can use this effect especially if it reflects a brand.

EDGE COLORING AND EFFECTS

PANTONE SPOT COLORS

Pantone Spot (pms)

Get control of your company color using pantone colors.

Effects

Consistent color run after run with mixed pantone colors. On the lighter cards raised ink is possible.

DIE CUTS

Die cuts

Die cut business cards with a see through effect or for revealing print, Spot UV or foil behind.

Uses

Die cuts are creative high-end effects.

Die cuts with effects

Die cut business cards can be very complex with many files making up the final manufactured piece. A large die cut area can reveal a large Spot UV area behind, other foil or print effects.

Uses

Come up with an idea and run it past us. We will lay out the files for approval.

EMBOSSED BUSINESS CARDS

embossed business card with gold foil

Embossing means raised

Embossed business cards have a raised effect on one side. Feel it under touch.

Uses

Embossing one side will leave the reverse impression on the other side on a 16pt card. On a 32pt card one side can be embossed and the other side can remain flat. Add some mystery!

Debossing means indented

Debossing on letterpress papers are the highest end business cards. Beautiful to see and to touch.

Uses

Use with foil and pantone printing.
